39th Annual RSVP Classic Car Quilt 2024: “A Night at the Movies”

To be auctioned on Saturday, August 31, 2024, by the WORLDWIDE Auctioneers, Kruse Plaza, Auburn, starting after 4:00 P.M.

 

The 39th Annual RSVP Classic Car Quilt, “A Night at the Movies” was made by the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.  It will be sold as a fundraiser on Saturday, August 31, 2024, by WORLDWIDE AUCTIONEERS starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Kruse Plaza, 5634 Opportunity Blvd., Auburn, IN  46707 on the west side of I-69 just south of Auburn.

RSVP Volunteer, Diana Wiedenhoeft, and RSVP Staff, Pam Fink & Shirley Johnson designed this special one-of-a-kind quilt that pays tribute to the many cars used in iconic movies.

The quilt features hand-embroidered cars that have become famous over the years, plus pictures of the actors that drove the special cars. Movie tickets and popcorn border it.

The title panel, “A Night at the Movies” was designed and constructed by Diana Wiedenhoeft.

Diana Wiedenhoeft sewed the quilt together.  Carol Baker, Auburn, finished the binding by hand stitching it.

Paula Reuille, Columbia City, designed the quilting patterns used when she machine quilted the 39th Annual Classic Car Quilt.

RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) is a program of Catholic Charities.  RSVP volunteers share their time and talents serving the community in many programs such as the VITA Tax program, the Share the Warmth Coat giveaway, the Pack a Backpack school supply giveaway, the Community Center of Caring Food Pantry, Resource and Referral, and our Christmas Program along with making and distributing Comfort Items such as Cancer Quilts to children.

Catholic Charities is a 501C3 social service agency and your donation in purchasing this quilt is tax deductible. All proceeds will go to support the RSVP program.
