Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend Receives Grant from the Mary Louise Lowe Charitable Fund and Kosciusko County Community Foundation

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend (CCFWSB) recently received a $3,889 grant from the Mary Louise Lowe Charitable Fund, a component fund of Kosciusko County Community Foundation.

A grant for staff professional development, a CCFWSB staff member was able to become a certified trainer of Nonviolence Intervention and Crisis Prevention (NCI). A method of de-escalation, NCI improves safety, reduces risk and ensures the well-being of everyone in the office.

“Proactively having our staff trained in NCI is extremely valuable for our office,” says East Region Director, Tiffany Goble. “Case managers are faced with challenging and quickly escalating situations, NCI ensures we are managing the altercation safely – for both the client and staff member.”

NIC has been used by over 15 million people to successfully manage escalating behavior and prevent a crisis.
