Bronze Women in the Workplace Award

On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne South Bend received the Bronze Workplace Partner Award in the categories of Leadership and Benefits & Policies at the Women in the Workplace Luncheon.

A part of the Women’s Fund of Greater Fort Wayne, the award, “recognizes employers in the Greater Fort Wayne region who show a strong commitment to women in the workplace through measurable outcomes, key policies, and best practices.”

This is the second year the Women’s Fund has honored local employers who demonstrate outcomes that advance workplace gender equality.

Catholic Charities met the following criteria for the award:

Leadership:

  • Top leadership roles (vice president equivalent or higher) comprised of 29% or more of women (matching/exceeding the national average).

  • 38% of middle management positions are held by women.

Benefits & Policies:

  • Offers 9 of 16 benefits and policies designed to support caregiving and financial well-being.

  • Offers at least two weeks of paid family leave.

  • Has a zero-tolerance policy for sexism and harassment.

 

Luz Ostrognai, Director of Immigration Services, accepted the award on behalf of the agency.
