Stamp Out Hunger 2023

On Saturday, May 13, our North Region’s Food Pantry, the Community Center of Caring, collaborated with the Postal Office on the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The mail carriers in DeKalb County collected canned and boxed food donations along their delivery routes. The mail carriers brought the donated food back to the post office where a portion was given to the Community Center of Caring.

Our Food Pantry had 20 volunteers that assisted with picking up and inventorying the donated canned and boxed food items. The volunteers comprised RSVP volunteers, youth, and Catholic Charities staff.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive provided the Community Center of Caring with 3500 pounds of canned and boxed food that filled our shelves. Catholic Charities is blessed to have RSVP participants that come together to assist with community activities, this is just one of many examples. We are so thankful to be a part of a community that during times of food inflation, bands together to contribute what they can to fighting food insecurity in DeKalb County.
